She wrote
When next you feel like quitting, Remember this - "It is well with my soul". I didn't fully realise the impact of this song until I heard the story behind it.
A very wealthy Chicago lawyer had a thriving business, a Wife, 4 daughters and a son. He was a devout Christian, and at the very height of his success he lost his only son tragically. Soon after a great fire destroyed ALL of his business factories too. With his family going thru all of this, he decided to send his wife and 4 daughters on a cruise to Europe to get some time away as he stayed back to attend to some business as well as a crusade for God. He received a letter 3 days after they left, informing him of some more bad news!!! Tragedy struck again. This time, there was a storm at sea and his 4 daughters drowned in that storm. His wife survived and on his way to join her he penned these famous words that has brought comfort to many today. What are you going thru again??? How bad do you think life is to you??? "Whatever my lot, you have taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul".#bounceback #thedevilisaliar #thedevilhatesacomebackstory #defeatyourfears
Just like Job, God restored it all, he was wealthier than he ever was before, I mean this song is testament to that fact and he was blessed with 3 more children too.
If it didn't happen its cos it wasn't meant to. Stop looking at closed doors, look out for the windows. Sometimes God says no because what he has ahead is so much bigger than what you are crying over. I have learnt and I learnt the hard way to trust in his divine timing. I have had doors closed in my face and I wasted so much time looking at what wasn't up to what God was giving to me. Sometimes, he says not yet cos if it happens for you now, you won't appreciate it. You probably aren't ready yet. Trust God, trust your journey and don't be afraid to let go. He's got you. #ThursdayInspiration #Cheerstomypast #happychild
When God is working you out it may seem like he is working against you. Good things fall apart so better things can take its place.... Hold on in your time of weariness it is darkest just before sunlight and when you feel your self slipping ask God to carry you. #heisworkingforyoyrfavor #bestill
