IS IT WRONG FOR CELEBRITIES TO SHOW OFF THEIR WEALTH AND POSSESSIONS ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND OTHER PLATFORMS?

While uploading pictures of Peter Okoye's newest Bentley  addition to his fleet of cars , I summoned my bossom friend to come and have a look  and her comments got me laughing.
She went like '' Ehe, what's new? Most of these celebrities are immature I swear. They make money, the upload pics, they biuld houses, they upload pics, they buy material possessions and upload pictures, buy clothes and go shopping and upload pics, travel abroad and make noise. Abeg it's childish jare''. When they contact an STD or are in a negative situation, they do not upload pictures. You bloggers are even worsening matters talking about it , giving them unecessary hype, importance and attention ( My face turned red in shame at this point lool).

I however pointed to her that even foreign celebs show of thier wealth and it wasn't peculiar to Nigerian artistes and celebs alone. Besides ,  they work hard for their money and thier talents are sure paying off. If they have it, they can flaunt it, I butressed  .

''What moral lessons and message are the passing across ?She continued. That once you acquire a certain amount of cash , you belong to a certain type of class and belong? Putting young people under unecessary pressure to measure up and get wealthy for a sense of importance. I think they all have complex issues and need to maintain and feel important , by rubbing thier wealth in our faces to get praised.

Have you seen Beyonce or JayZ flaunt any material possession, Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt , Dangote,  Warren Buffet, Bills gate nko, they should go and sit down abeg.
Rather you hear they (above listed peeps) are supporting one cause or  involved in one philanthropic gesture or the other''.

At this point, we began arguing if it was right or wrong and immature for celebrities to flaunt their wealth and material posssessions on social media.
While writting this post and Iooking for images, it became sort of apparent that my friend had a point oo. Most Naija celebs do flaunt their wealth.
