On December 23, Gyan Singh Bhil, resident of village Dekakund in Madhya Pradesh's Alirazpur district, got angry when he found a neighbour's rooster mating his pet hen in his compound. To teach it a lesson, irate Gyan Singh shot the rooster, which belonged to his neighbour Jagliya Bhil, with an arrow.

Shocked on finding his rooster stuck with an arrow, Jagliya took his pet hen to the Jobat police station. The police lodged a complaint against Gyan Singh under Section 427 of the IPC. The rooster was then rushed to hospital for treatment. After successfully removing the arrow, doctors handed over the rooster to Jagliya.

However, the rooster couldn't survive and it passed away late Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, Gyan Singh is on the run even as the police said they were making all efforts to nab him. "We are making all efforts, but so far the assailant is at large," a police officer said.
