GOVERNOR OKOROCHA VOTED AS BEST PERFORMING GOVERNOR IN THE SECURITY MANAGEMENT OF NIGERIA

Do you all agree with this?

Imo State governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha was voted  as the best performing governor ever in the security management of Nigeria by the Governing Council of the National Development Summit of traditional rulers,NDSTR.

The council in a statement signed by all its members at the end of its meeting in Kano on Tuesday, 11th-june-2013, noted that the governor was the only one ever who dedicated the total of his security votes to the running of effective security network in his state.

According to them, the governor in his wisdom collaborates with traditional rulers in recruiting, training and renumeration of vigilantes, an approach which they said said, has made tremendous impact in the fight against crime and corruption in the state.

The traditional rulers also called on other state governors to emulate the system adopted by the Imo state governor by allowing traditional rulers the free hand to manage security in their localities with the capacity to hire and to fire.

The council warned that any ruler found to be corrupt, criminal and lawless, especially in relation to the incidence of kidnapping, human trafficking, illicit drugs and terrorism, should not only be dethroned but his family be barred from seeking election as traditional rulers.

They recommended President Jonathan's state of emergency on three north easthern states and called on all traditional rulers to join hands with the federal government in sanitising their communities.
