20 years ago, MKO Abiola won the Nigerian presidential election which was annulled . He was sent to prison for declaring himself president despite the annulment etc .
Abiola continues to be celebrated after 20 years.
How many Heads of State have been celebrated after their passing like Abiola? None!
His legacy still lingers on, despite all he had to go through.
I can clearly remember as a little girl in 1993, I was so captivated and in love with his presidential campaign advert , that I crammed it and presented to my parents guests and any willing audience.
Thanks to Youtube, I was able to dig it up and it brought me nostalgic feelings.
Funny though, all the problems mentioned at the beginning of the advert are still lingering in Nigeria after 20 years.( So Sad).
