The Federal government has concluded all arrangements to quickly transfer some students of the University of Abuja to other institutions for the completion of their studies .
This was disclosed by the Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Ahmed, on Tuesday during a meeting with a delegation of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
She said that the Federal Government has concluded plans to relocate Engineering students of the university to other universities. She noted that the transfer of the students will give the government some time to re-apply for fresh accreditation.
The Minister added that the students who would be re-absorbed had already been identified.
The NANS executives had gone to appeal to the Minister to set up an emergency fund to acquire the equipment needed to secure accreditation for the affected courses.
However, the Minister did not say anything about the fate of the other faculties affected by the accreditation problem.
It would be recalled that the institution has remained shutdown since last November following series of protests by students over the non-accreditation of some courses in the University.
Students of Medicine, Agriculture and Engineering Faculties have been in the institution, not knowing when they will complete their studies, as their courses are yet to be accredited.
Engineering course is one of the most excellent choices for students from science background, in conditions of scope as well as bright career. It is a vast field that put forward numerous streams and specialty choices. Thanks for sharing a nice information.
