ARMED ROBBERS INVADE LAGOS INTERNATIONAL AIRPOT




Three people have been reported dead after heavily armed robbers broke through security and  invaded the international Wing of the the Murtala  Mohammed International  airport Lagos . They  killed two police officers and made away with a huge sum of foreign currencies from some bureau-de-change last night Wednesday.
The robbers were  reported to have  stormed  the airport some few minutes to 9pm,and  headed for the BDC operators centre near the car park of the airport.

Eyewitness accounts claim the armed robbers numbering over 10 started shooting sporadically into the air as soon as soon as they arrived at the international airport.

The robbers were said to have been engaged in an exchange of gunfire with police officers  in the airport for about 30 minutes. This led to the death of two of the police officers and one of the robbers .
The General Manager, Corporate Communications of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr. Yakubu Dati, confirmed the robbery.

He however said he could only confirm the death of one of the robbers, noting that the level of casualties was being ascertained.
