OSCAR PISTORIUS'S BROTHER CARL FACES MURDER CHARGES

This must really be a hard time for the Pistorius family.
28 year old Carl Pistorius the elder brother of paralympic player Oscar Pistorius faces a culpable homicide charge for a 2010 road death.

Carl was allegedly involved in a collision with a woman motorcyclist and was supposed to be in court last Thursday, as his brother awaited a bail hearing, according to local media reports.
Carl declared he was innocent of killing a woman in a car crash .

Oscar was released on bail on Friday, and his brother was later seen driving to the home of their uncle Arnold early on Sunday in Waterkloof, a suburb in the capital, Pretoria, where Oscar is staying.

Kenny Oldwage, the lawyer representing both Pistorius brothers, said yesterday that Carl Pistorius would contest the culpable homicide charge when his trial continued next month.
"There is no doubt that Carl is innocent and the charge will be challenged in court," Mr Oldwage said in a statement yesterday.

The problems surrounding Carl are the latest twist in a case that has transfixed South Africa and much of the world. The revelation of the culpable homicide charge immediately caused a stir.
