GOVERNOR ROCHAS OKOROCHA SACKS 6 COMMISSIONERS IN IMO STATE




Governor of Imo State Chief Rochas Okorocha dropped a bombshell today at a cabinet meeting. He announced he was sacking  6 commissioners today as a result of a cabinet reshuffle.
The six commissioners include:

Chief Ejike Uche (Commisioner for Public Utilitiies and Rural Development)

Nze Ogueri Enwerem (Commerce and Industry)

Dr. Obinna Duruji (Information & Strategy)

 Engr. Alex Ogwazuo (Culture and Tourism).

 Nelson Ezerioha (Transport)

 Lady Chioma Ogoke   (Housing)

Shortly after the State Executive Council meeting,  Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Eze Madumere disclosed that a  list of  Commissioner Nominees had been forwarded to the House of Assembly for screening.

The new batch of commissioners on the list are Ichie Uche Mbanaso, ( mayor of Orlu) Barr. Lady Nnanna Ugochi Okoro, Mr. Chima Iwuchukwu, Barr. Emma Ekweremba , Prince Charles Onuoha (Senior Special Assistant on MDGs)  and Hon.Chinedu Offor who previously served as the Senior Special Assistant to Gov.Okorocha on Media was nominated as the Commissioner for Information & Strategy.
Speaking further, Prince Eze Madumere  said that Gov.Okorocha also effected a minor re-shuffle of some Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants. In due time, the list would   be made public.  He explained that the affected appointees were dropped following the desire of His Excellency , the Dan Jekan of Sokoto to effect new changes and restructure the machinery of governance after a re-assessment of the progress made  in the past one year
