KIDNAPPERS SEIZE EX FOOTBALLER'S FATHER

Kidnappers have seized the 83-year-old father of a former Super Eagles player, Chikelue Iloenyosi, in Njikoka Local Government, Anambra State.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the victim, James Iloenyosi, was on his way back from the church on Monday when he was abducted by the assailants.

A family source said the kidnappers blocked Chikelue father’s car and then put him into another car before speeding off.

FORMER MISS NIGERIA FEYI SODIPO ESCAPES ABDUCTION

Three fake security operatives  comprised of two men and a woman were arrested in Abeokuta, yesterday, after attempting to kidnap former Miss Nigeria, Feyi Sodipo.
The suspects  claimed to be security operatives working for the organisers of Miss Nigeria beauty pageant.

SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS WITH 18 CHILDREN CAUGHT IN IMO STATE

Imo State Police Command, weekend, nabbed a bus driver at the border between Imo and Rivers States, conveying about 18 school children suspected to have been abducted.

 Investigations revealed that the pupils were allegedly abducted from Umuohie Primary School and Baptist Secondary School, Umuohie, all in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State.

FOUR AGIP STAFF ABDUCTED AND TWO MOBILE POLICEMEN KILLED

 A gang of about six men suspected to be Kidnappers, were reported to have accosted the coastal bus conveying the workers  back home from work at the Agip Okpai/Beneku field operated by Agip and Sterling at about 4 p.m. and short dead the two mobile  escort policemen before carefully selecting about four members of staff from the bus and taken to an unknown destination.

NKIRU SILVANUS'S KIDNAPPERS APPREHENDED BY POLICE

Suspected kidnappers of the Nollywood actress and the Special Assistant to Governor Rochas Okorocha on Public Affairs, Miss Nkiru Sylvanus were yesterday paraded, as the police busted the criminal abduction ring in Imo State. Also paraded were four suspects who kidnapped the four-year-old daughter of the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Imo State chapter, Mr. Blyden Amajirionwu from his house at Uratta Housing Estate in Owerri North Local Government, while he travelled to his village, Ngor Okpala.

In another breakthrough, the police successfully rescured a 78-year-old woman from kidnappers’ den. While parading the suspects, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adisa Bolanta said three teams of police operatives carried out manhunt for Nkiru’s kidnappers and eventually arrested the four suspects namely, Okoro, Stella, Festus and Chijioke in their hideout at Imerienwe in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area. He said the suspects in their separate statements had confessed to be collaborators to the kidnappers, adding that they implicated one Chinedu alias Mopol, Ifeanyi alias Alaye, Ezekwem and Ifeanyi (surname withheld) as the main kidnappers that abducted the Nollywood actress.
