LATE MKO ABIOLA'S SON ABDUL ASKS THAT JUNE 12TH BE DECLARED YOUTH DAY

Son of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the June 1993 Presidential elections, Mr. Abdul Abiola, has urged the Federal Government to declare June 12 as Nigerian Youth Day.

Abiola made the call at a rally in Lagos organised by the Nigerian Youth Leadership Group to mark the World International Day of the Youth.

20 years ago, MKO Abiola won the  Nigerian presidential election which was annulled . He was sent to prison for declaring himself president despite the annulment etc .
Abiola continues to be celebrated after 20 years.
