TOKE MAKINWA REACTS TO THE NANNY KIDNAPPER DEMANDING 15 MILLION FROM EMPLOYERS

Na wa ooo, sad things are really happening indeed. I've heard bizarre cases of employers and nanny's. When I was little, my mum in particular had all her expensive wrappers and many other items stolen by a nanny/house girl who absconded . Another abandoned the house when she left for work leaving everywhere unlocked and my younger sibling alone while I was at boarding school, another got pregnant .  My aunts kids including her baby of a month old were abandoned by her house help who left the house, gates etc open. Luckily,  a neighbor saw the kids wandering on the streets and took them in , till my aunt returned.

Most men even allege their first sexual experience were with their house helps. Cases of house-helps using sleeping pills on kids to make them inactive or wickedly putting crying babies in freezers to shut them up, house-helps initiating kids into witchcraft have made waves as news in Nigeria, yet some people still are careless when it comes to nanny hiring.
A nanny, Mary Akinloye, who allegedly kidnapped three kids in the Surulere area of Lagos State has demanded N15m from the victim’s parents.
The victims the  Orekoya family had sort the services of  a nanny  on OLX (Buyers meet sellers on the site), an online sales portal.
Akinloye indicated interest and gave the Orekoya's the contacts of two people who she claimed were her relatives. The family agreed to formalize documentation with the relatives before the week ran out.
After she resumed  work on Tuesday, she took  the three children Aderomola (11 months old), Adedamola (4 years old), Demola (6 years old)  out, while their parents were away and she hasn't returned till now.
TV/Radio/ Vlogger Toke Makinwa took to twitter reacting to the incident  and I couldn't help but agree with her.
Parents need to be careful with who they hire as their domestic staff.
Even drivers kidnap employers kids these days. An incident happened in Lekki years back were a driver kidnapped his employers kids when asked to go pick them up from school.
In a country like Nigeria with all the online scams reported daily per second, just how do you hire a staff and bring them into your home without thorough investigation?
Not judging sha, I hope this serves as a lesson to other Nigerian parents and me as well.
