COURT WITHDRAWS SUIT CLAIMING JONATHAN UNFIT FOR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

A Federal High court in Abuja has cancelled a suit seeking the disqualification of President Goodluck Jonathan from contesting the 2015 election.

The suit which was filed by petitioners led by Dr. Junaidu Mohammed and three others
 has been withdrawn  .

According to the  plaintiffs ,  President Goodluck Jonathan was ineligible to re-contest for the office of the President . They argued that allowing him to do so meant he was spending more than eight years allowed for anyone to serve in the office.

They requested that  the court  declare that it was unconstitutional, unlawful, illegal etc for any person to occupy the office of the president of Nigeria for more than a cumulative and aggregate period of eight years when the country was not at war.
