Finding love was the least on my mind . I went about campus holding firmly to my mum's advise. ''They don't love you, they come to deceive you, I want no babies'' her voice kept echoing in my head.
Every guy that approached me seemed a threat to my studies and I did not want or see the need to date. I turned them down , those with sleek and unsleek lines, short and tall, handsome and ugly, dumb and smart etc. Sticking to my mother's advice was really paramount.
I met Obinna through a mutual friend named Nkechi. We were introduced when he walked up to us while we (Nkechi and I ) had a chat. He seemed really eager to have an indepth discussion with regards family issues since they were both related, so I had to exuse myself.
''Obinna likes you Tess'' Nkechi said when she met me up later.
She began gushing about his striking qualities being prominent in school, smart, bubbly etc , but I blantanly let her know I wasn't ready to date anyone.
A week later, I found it strange to find Obinna wherever I went on campus. The canteen, church, relaxation spots, upschool etc. This had to be more than a coincidence I convinced myself. Could it be he was stalking me?
Why do I keep running into you I quizzed him on another occassion. It is strange we are always at the same places at the same time, I said with a look of surprise clearly written on my face. ''I guess it's a coincidence'' he replied.
The situation never stopped and no sooner, Obinna and I became very close friends. He cared so much and was willing to go any lenght to see me happy.
Soon, we began doing stuff together, going places together etc. We bacame inseparable. I got to know his coursemates and bossom friends, and he knew mine as well.
It became really hard to do anything without him, I hated it but couldn't fight the feeling.
Has Cupid shot me an unwanted arrow I quizzed in one of my quiet moments. An uplanned , unbudgeted arrow, yet interesting and exciting.
Obinna later opened up to me stating he indeed stalked me, after he fell in love with me sighting me on the first day with Nkechi.
