FINDING MR RIGHT EP 2 -A STEP CLOSER TO MY DREAMS (THE POTENTIAL MATE GROUND)

I’m between 18- 19 still sexy succulent and just gained admission into the university.  At this point, my fantasies of being married to celebrities have dropped and I directed my focus to sticking with reality.
I happened to have had two choices of universities to attend and opted for the one with better credence,   which would also be an avenue to not only obtain my degree, but also give me the opportunity to find my potential mate/ future husband (killing two birds with one stone).
Here I am in ‘’ Lavida Loca University’’, happy, elated and excited.
Here, the guys are cute, tall, intelligent, smart etc though they were a few exceptions.
I was going to acquire my degree, meet my knight in shining armor (giggling to myself).  Everything was falling into perfect place. My future was bright.
This was freedom from the gruesome claws of my overprotective parents. While savoring my new found ‘’ freedom and independence’’, I reminisced on the in-depth talk my mum and I had some days back.
‘’Bring home no babies’’ she said. ‘’Now you are in school, there are a couple of things you should know, my mum starts again with her never ending advice.
She almost had the attitude of Rochelle who played the part of Chris Rock’s mother in the series ‘’ Everybody Hates Chris’’, just that she never yelled much.
‘’You are in the university now, and we won’t be there with you. You have to be careful. There will be loads of guys swarming around you like bees  and professing love ,  only to have a taste of your ‘’ Punani ( Vjay, jay/pussy).  It is all deceit and if you fall for it, you could end up with an unwanted pregnancy aka ‘’ Ime Mpuke’’ (In Igbo) and I want no babies in my house, not to talk of the fact it could ruin your studies ‘’ she buttressed.
My mum would have practically followed me to school to become my ‘’Bunki ‘’(Bunk mate) if she could.
Just when I thought she was done, she goes again ‘’ Focus on your studies, get your degree, and then get married. Leave boys alone’’.  Yes mummy oooh! , I replied to quickly get her off my back.
