WHO WILL BE THE NEW GOVERNOR OF ANAMBARA STATE- ? CONTROVERSY SURROUNDS ELECTIONS

Peter Obi_Willie Obiano

Despite polling majority votes of 174,710, the APGA’s candidate, Willie Obiano is yet to be declared winner of the Saturday’s governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

This was because the total numbers of cancelled votes was more than the difference between the numbers of votes cast for the winner and the runner up of this election according to the State INEC official who read the results at about 6 am Monday morning.

Following the declaration of Anambra governorship election held on Saturday and Sunday as inconclusive by the INEC Chief Returning Officer, Prof James Epoke, the national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Umeh has expressed optimism that his party will win the election.

Umeh who reacted to the subsequent announcement of supplementary election in some polling units in 15 local governments of the state commended the INEC for the conduct of the election, saying that the commission had totally shunned the culture of impunity which reigned previously.
