KELLY ROWLAND COVERS THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE OF ESSENCE MAGAZINE- DISHES ON THE TRACK '' DIRTY LAUNDRY''

Green with envy: Kelly Rowland has admitted she is envious of her old friend Beyonce's success in the new issue of Essence

Kelly Rowland is Essence magazine‘s cover girl for their September 2013 issue. The Dirty Laundry singer graced the cover sporting bangs and a bun with all black fur vest and bedazzled dress along with gold accessories.

Inside the issue, Kelly dished on being afraid to share her feelings in the past, what lead to her very personal track Dirty Laundry and her love for boxing.

Excerpts below:

On sharing her real feelings:

I didn’t want anybody to judge me. But now I don’t care. Judge me if you want to. And as a matter of fact, it won’t even count, ‘cause the only person who can judge is God.

On what lead to Dirty Laundry track:

For a long time I wasn’t happy, but that had nothing to do with Beyoncé. That had to do with me trying to get my life in order and make better decisions for myself. I’m seeing all these wonderful things happen for her and I am happy for her. But I want a path. I want things to pop off for me, too. Not on her level but whatever my level is supposed to be.
