EGYPTIAN MILITARY OVERTHROWS PRESIDENT MOHAMED MORSI

Large groups of protesters were seen celebrating outside Egypt's Presidential Palace after  Egyptian  military deposed Mohamed MorsI, the country's first democratically elected president.
President Mohammed Morsi’s dramatic fall from power came after months of political turmoil and days of tense protests, as millions of Egyptians took to the streets to call for his exit regarding him as incompetent and autocratic.
The military also went ahead to  put a top judge Adly Mansour in his place and suspended the constitution.
Mohammed MorsI , a Western-educated Islamist who was elected a year ago, "did not achieve the goals of the people" and failed to meet the generals' demands that he share power with his opposition, Egypt's top military officer, Gen. Abdel-Fatah El-Sis stated.

A Muslim Brotherhood spokesman Gehad El-Haddad said  Morsi is currently under "house arrest" at the presidential Republican Guard headquarters in Cairo. He said some members of MorsI's inner circle have also been detained.
