POWER OUTAGE AT UYO AIRPORT PREVENTS FLIGHT FROM LANDING

On Friday night, an Arik Airline flight W3 533, about landing at the Akwa Ibom Airport, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, swiftly aborted landing following a power outage .
50 passengers were on-board the flight from Abuja to Uyo .

The aircraft left  Abuja airport, around 7pm, but returned to base two hours later with the same passengers on-board leaving speculations that they must have been hovering in the sky all the while.

It was learnt that the air mishap was averted after the pilot flew back into the air on sighting a blackout on the runway, which sources said was due to technical issues at the airport.
A spokesperson  for Arik Air, Mr. Banji Ola, confirmed the development, stating it wasn't Ariks fault  adding that the passengers were rescheduled to travel with another flight.
Na wa ooo!
