Reports have circulated that Murtala Muhammed International airport is on fire.
An eyewitness said the fire emanated from some cables, which apparently melted under heat.
This led to a blackout in the airport terminal while fire fighters deployed swiftly in the affected area to quench the inferno.
fire fighters were able to put the situation under control while securitymen erected a metal barricade around the site.
